A Wedding at The Manor Barn, Cambridge
Jake & Rob’s wedding at The Manor Barn, Harlton
Jake & Rob’s wedding at The Manor Barn was always going to be a treat.
Jake had told me that Rob, and a good number of his friends, work in the world of musical theatre and that the wedding would have a big band theme.
The first taste of the musicality began the minute the new Mr and Mr stepped foot back down the aisle, as a random assortment of guests began to sing to the happy couple. A surprise that Rob had arranged.
The music continued throughout the day and into the evening. Several of the guests took to the stage to sing to the backing of the big band and Rob surprised his groom again, serenading him from the stage. And then later, his mum, accompanied by an old audio-recording of her father, his late grand-father - there were tears aplenty!
A joyous spectacle all round and an absolute pleasure to capture, especially so since Jake totally got me and my approach …
…I'm a photographer (not weddings) and my old job was working for a bridal event company. As much as I loved all the pictures, they were all so... staged. The idea of natural, authentic photos just makes something as intimate as a wedding much more personal.
Authentic

Personal
I was made to photograph that and I can’t wait to make their album. Take a peek, below, at some of the images I’ll be using to make that and enjoy!
